A Brief Conversation with our Guest Artists

Norman Krieger

What inspired you to become a musician?
When I was 5 years old my grandmother inspired me to study the piano. In short, I had to study or I could not play outside with my friends.

Susan Duehlmeier

What inspired you to become a musician?
I had a mother who had always wanted to be a pianist but didn't have the opportunity to study. Because she provided me the opportunity and because of her passion for music, it became an important part of my life. I had many opportunities to perform and had such inspiring teachers, I wanted to pursue a career as a performer and teacher.

Bonnie Gritton

What inspired you to become a musician?
I begged my Mother to teach me piano when I was four. The rest is history!

Noriko Uenaka

What inspired you to become a musician?
My mother is a music-pedagogic teacher. And, my younger sister is a violinist.
